This year was no different, and we’re grateful to everyone who took part in making it such a success.
Hazel and Esther in Petworth hosted a delightful coffee morning one Saturday morning, inviting friends and neighbours to join them for hot drinks and cakes and find out more about Children on the Edge. They baked an array of delicious goodies for their guests to enjoy, and decorated the house and garden for the occasion. Esther’s Dad did a sterling job at selling raffle tickets, helping to raise a whopping £500 in total.
Over in Emsworth, eight children from St James’ school hosted an after school cake sale, enticing their friends on their way home with hundreds of cakes and sweet treats lovingly baked and decorated by the children (and their Mums!). The front garden was packed with families and neighbours, who came to buy cakes and stop for a cuppa and a chat.
One parent took the leftover cakes into his Portsmouth office the next day, where colleagues generously donated £60 in return for some Friday snacks!
In total, the children raised an amazing £461.
