Set up an online fundraising page

Creating a JustGiving fundraising page is a great way to bring your fundraiser to life. It’s one of the best ways to share your story and connect with more supporters. By adding photos, videos and setting a fundraising target, you’ll inspire more donations.

Boost the value of your donations for free

There are a couple of ways to get more money from the donations you receive, without having to spend or ask for more.

Gift Aid your donation

If you or your supporters are UK taxpayers, you can add Gift Aid to your donations. By doing so, the government will add 25% to the amount at no extra cost to you or them. Find out more about how to add Gift Aid to your donation.

Ask your employer to Match Donations

Many companies offer Matched Giving schemes (also known as “Matched Funding”). This means that a company matches the amount of money an employee raises for a charity. Sometimes they may even double the amount of money you raise, so it’s a good idea to ask your employer about this.

Get creative

If you are holding a fundraising event, see if you can include additional activities to make more money on the day. You could organise a raffle, sweepstake or a tombola. Read our Raffle Guide for all the information you need.

Reach out to local businesses

Ask local businesses if they’re willing to help. They may be able to sponsor you in exchange for a bit of promotion at your event. This could mean putting their logo on your fundraising page or event programme if you have one.

A sponsor may also be able to support you with the costs of running your event, so that more money from ticket sales goes to charity. They may also be able to donate prizes that you can raffle to raise money.

Make payday count

Payday is usually at the end of the month. This is a good time to announce updates about your fundraiser, like a milestone you've reached or how your training or planning is going. It’s also a good time to send a gentle reminder for people to donate, sponsor you, or buy tickets to your event.

Pay in your fundraising money

If you're fundraising offline, find out how you can pay in the funds you have raised when you're ready to donate.
