Ideas & Resouces for Schools

Get inspiration and see how your school could support Children on the Edge

There are so many ways to get your school involved. From one-off fundraising events, to longer term partnerships; we love working with schools across the country to share more about our work and inspire young people to make a positive difference in the world.

Read on to find out what other schools are doing to support Children on the Edge.

ST JAMES’ PRIMARY SCHOOL

After a Refugee Week assembly visit, St James’ Primary School in Emsworth held a fantastic Enterprise Day for Children on the Edge, raising nearly £400! Every class, from ‘Puffins’ to ‘Orcas’, ran stalls with crafts, games, and refreshments. The event highlighted the students' creativity and generosity, reflecting the school's belief that small acts of kindness matter.

WESTBOURNE HOUSE SCHOOL

When Russia invaded Ukraine, students at Westbourne House School rallied together to support our work with Ukrainian refugees in Romania and Moldova. Students came up with lots of ideas to fundraise and created artwork to sell, put on a choir concert and organised a 19 mile trek for students and alumni. The school raised an incredible £20,000!

GLEBELANDS SCHOOL

The wonderful staff and students at Glebelands School have been supporting Children on the Edge for years as their nominated charity. During the summer exam season, student Harley sold bananas outside the exam hall to give his friends a little boost. His banana stall was a hit and he donated the proceeds to Children on the Edge.

HALL GREEN INFANTS

Children at Hall Green Infants in Birmingham ran a sponsored daily mile every day in Refugee Week, raising £2,897.13!

We loved chatting with the Key Stage 1 students in a Virtual Assembly so they could hear how their fundraising would help children who are the same age living in a tough situation.

FISHBOURNE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Fishbourne Primary’s guiding principle is: 'There is only one you in this great big world... make it a better place.' In their thinking circle, they discussed the topic of refugees.

Inspired by a Children on the Edge assembly, the students came up with brilliant ideas and dedicated their spring term to fundraising in support of refugees.
